Delhi Catholic Schools Association decides to give nursery admission forms from January 1
Instead of waiting for the final decision of the court case on nursery guidelines, the Delhi Catholic Schools Association has decided to go ahead with nursery admissions. The association announced the decision at its monthly meeting on Monday.
“We have left the dates to each institution but since December is a very busy month for us-because of Christmas-most of us are likely to start distributing forms from January 1,” says Sister Nirmalini, principal Carmel Convent and a member of the association. She adds, “If a common schedule comes, we will follow that-like we did last year-but for now, this is the decision. We aren’t waiting for the court case.”
School authorities discussed the criteria as well and any changes from last year are unlikely. “The Christian community will be given preference, then neighbourhood or distance, alumni and sibling,” says Sister Nirmalini. Co-education schools are likely to allot points for “girl child” as well.
